Volume in math can be defined as the quantity of three-dimensional space enclosed by a closed surface. Volume can be used as a calculation for any substance (solid, liquid, gas, or plasma) based on the space that the substance either contains (like a vessel) or occupies (like a room). Volume is normally measured in cubic metre units. Volume is also used as a mean of measuring capacity, for example the volume of a bucket is also it\'s maximum capacity. So a buckets who volume is 10 litres would have a capacity of 10 litres though the buckets actual volume is much less.
