Body mass index (BMI) is the measure of body fat based on height and weight specific to adult men and women.
BMI is a useful measure that helps to understand if you are overweight and obese. Keep in mind that BMI is an indicative scale only and works on the average of averages, if you are a large frame your BMI may be higher but still within healthy limits (so an athlete will likely have a high BMI score but still have relatively low body fat).
